1. A twenty pound bag of Holly-tone fertilizer in my trunk scents the interior of the car with memories. Summer days, warm dirt, our back porch where shoes came on and off, and my dad dropping seeds into rows with promises of good things to come.
2. A peacock sees his reflection in the chrome on my car. He cocks his head this way and that, sizing up his new-found competitor.
3. He's home this evening. He sits in his chair while I am in mine and we both read in companionable silence.
Funny about the peacock.
ReplyDeleteNow you've got me in the mood to go fertilize!
Wow - peacocks. I love to see them. That's so funny about the reflections.
ReplyDeletePeacocks, too! I love your part of the world. So glad you journal your days and share it with us. :)
