Disappointment Turned Around, Snow White in the Seven Dwarfs' House, Bittersweet

1. Our weekend away was thwarted by sickness. But we purposed to make a wonderful weekend out of nothing, and we did.
2. A fresh coat of paint in the kitchen. This leads to the "domino effect" of scrubbing cabinets, countertops, behind fridge and stove, washing windows and waxing butcher block. All done with windows open and mild, sunny air freshening up the house.
3. Bittersweet climbs its way to the top of the tree and then tumbles itself back down. I gather twisting tendrils full of orange berries. I love the honey smell.

Making Things, Heavenly Coffee, Just What I Need

1. The kitchen table is strewn with cards, glitter, glue and all sorts of paraphernalia. I like a creative environment!
2. Chelsea brews some freshly roasted coffee. I come in from outdoors to this heavenly aroma and I exclaim that my house smells like Barnes & Noble.
3. She brings me the last five colors of floss that I need. This saves me from having to drive half an hour in order to spend $1.

She's Back, Nor'easter, Sewing

1. One of my favorite things, coffee at B.'s. She always bakes something yummy, we chat the hours away and I leave with fresh eggs and today, candy from Switzerland.
2. Remnants of hurricane Ida have now turned into a nor'easter, dumping inches of rain and wind upon us. I am ever-so-grateful to stay in tonight, cozy up in a blanket and watch a movie.
3. Gathered together threads, scissors, and pattern to begin a hand craft to give as a Christmas gift.

Candy Grass, Dinner, Welcome Home

1. The winter rye grass in the vegetable garden is the brightest green. It looks like the edible candy grass in Willy Wonka.
2. Chicken Cacciatore simmers all day in the crock pot.
3. Out driving on this dark, rainy, foggy, deer-threatening night. It is a relief to drive up to our house, come inside and lock the door, leaving it all behind.

Ants, Ginger Cookies, Catalog, Catazine

1. I had time to sit and watch ants crawl on someone's path today. I remember that as a child, I had time to watch bugs, grass, and clouds. Just waiting for a friend to finish supper and come out to play afforded time to sit on their stoop and watch their ants. Life had a nice pace to it back then...
2. Baked these soft ginger cookies today. They were a breeze to bake and very tasty!
3. Thumbing through an attractive catalog of ______. The items look so appealing, I want to order everything to give as gifts and keep for myself. (I must leave this blank so my gifts will stay a surprise in case someone special reads this.) Who is their genius photographer?!
4. Phone a (different) catalog company to have my name removed from their mailing list. The recorded voice called it a "catazine". Is this for real? They actually combined a word out of catalog and magazine? Now I definitely must unsubscribe.

Covenant, Pie and Coffee, Well Spent

1. A baby's christening, a family's covenant with the Lord, a life full of promise.
2. For supper tonight we have apple crumb pie and coffee.
3. This was an entire day of leisure to spend as we pleased. I am aware to try and spend it well and not waste any of it.
