1. Knee-length Bermuda shorts hide what needs to be hidden.
2. Mockingbird chicks have left the nest and skitter around the patio area. Their raucous cheeps keep mama bird frantically filling their beaks all day long. Whenever we walk by, they quickly dart into the bushes.
3. Henri and I take a quick little jaunt up the road. We say hello to the vineyard man and the Chirstmas tree man, admire Mrs. Cahoon's hydrangeas, check the tree for cherries, scan the roadside for wine berries, look out for wild cats, and give thanks for cool breezes.
I'm stocking up on those shorts! (One of the few things I don't like about summer.)
ReplyDeleteSo many colorful characters in your neck of the woods, Leonora. I'm wondering if Mrs. Cahoon (don't hear that name often) is related to the famous Cahoon artists--Ralph and Martha?? :)
