I'm just a sappy mess today
1. An assembly is held to recognize many eighth grade students for their academic achievements. I am proud to hear Tess' name called up for a few. But it is the nomination for the Golden Heart award that fills my eyes with tears. It is an award given in memory of Bertha Anne Williamson, who was a teacher at the school when she passed away, for showing kindness and compassion to others and Tess has been nominated for this.
2. More tears as we see Audrey graduate from high school. I'm on an emotional overload, but it's all good.
3. My heart overflows today with thoughts of my daughters. It's bittersweet- the years are going too fast.
1 Corinthians 3:1-3
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Many congratulations to you and your girls! Best wishes to the graduate for a happy and loving life.
ReplyDeleteOh Leonora- I'm a sappy mess after reading this post! How sweet. Why is it I'm not surprised that your daughter was nominated for the Golden Heart award?
ReplyDeleteMy son's school doesn't have graduation ceremonies for the 8th graders because it's a Jr. and Sr. high school. But they did have an awards night, and I had a good sniffle then.
It's pretty special to witness your children being recognized for their achievements and uniqueness. Congratulations! Aaahh--on to high school! Zip...
(1 Corinthians 3:1-3 is perfect.)
