Earthy harvest, Moving on, Perfect summer time spread
1. Today I harvested basil and made pesto. Its fragrance combined with that of olive oil, garlic, pine nuts, and Parmesan filled the kitchen with goodness.
2. The first book I chose to read just isn't what I want. I'm usually stubborn and keep at it because I hate to quit. But I toss it aside anyway and happily pick up the next one I have waiting.
3. Fresh pesto is spread on bakery white bread, filled with slices of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, buttered on the outside, then grilled in a panini pan. Compliments of Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa. The flavorful, gooey inside with the crisp, buttery outside is a texture sensation.

I know the feeling when it comes to books. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, it just isn't the right book.
ReplyDeleteI tried it once and simply adore the fresh tastes of home made pesto. Yours look divine. Could I have the recipe? I didn't have one and just made up the proportions. I loved it but others said: too spicy! :)
