American composer, There they are!, Special order

1. My music to drive by is Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring. I like to imagine it was written in the sun and shadow of our beautiful mountains because it captures their essence perfectly.
*The audio I've highlighted includes only the Simple Gifts portion. I've written more about it here.
2. I've begun searching in to create my family tree. When the 1930 census image comes into focus, I see my dad's name listed and I get goosebumps.
3. Everyone's gone out and I'm alone for dinner. So I make a frittata for one, throwing in broccoli, red bell pepper, onion and pepper jack cheese. Yum!

  1. How far along are you in the family tree process?
I like the idea of putting the pieces of a puzzle together. Most of my family is deceased so our puzzles are missing many pieces from many different countries.

  2. It helps to get as much information as possible directly from family members. My grandparents were born in Italy, so I've only gotten as far as ship's manifests from Ellis Island from around 1904. Anything before that, I'll have to search Italian records, so I may be at a dead end for now.

  3. Ooh, that sounds like fun.

Everyone has gone out here too. Getting Mother's Day gifts, like I don't know what they're up to, lol. It's peace and quiet, time to do a little blog catching up.
