Entertaining, in the snow, with an asparagus tart


1. The bird feeder is the place to be today. It is a hubbub of activity with huge, fat cardinals appearing in red splendor against a snow white background.
2. Whether we like it or not, a snowstorm is magical. In one sweep, the landscape is transformed, routines are disrupted and dogs go bonkers.
3. I'm craving springtime food rather than wintry soups and stews, so I make a delicious asparagus tart. Puff pastry, Gruyere and fresh asparagus.
