For someone else, Planning ahead, New pets?

1.  With all of our home school textbooks up for sale, I think I am officially done. Twenty years! Should I say I'm retired? It feels more like I am just beginning something.
2. I cooked this morning, so that all we had to do was re-heat our dinner this evening.
3. Biodynamic farmer and beekeeper, Gunther Hauk spoke at the Botetourt Beekeeper's Assoc. meeting tonight. A soft spoken and gentle man, he shared his wisdom and practical advice regarding the honeybees. I will spend the winter reading and learning about a new hobby I hope to undertake.

  2. Regarding the homeschool journey, definitely beginning! That is how it feels for me. Yeay to you for beginning the beekeeping odyssey! I hope to keep bees again. What a wonderful opportunity to be able to share in that gentleman's wisdom and experience.

  3. Wow-Congratulations! Yes, retirement from teaching, indeed, but now it's your time to explore other passions! (We don't ever really retire, do we?)

I have two friends who are beekeepers and they are so happy doing so. One of them makes not only honey, but all kinds of other soothing products from her bees. And she's now begun to book speaking engagements at schools and elsewhere. It's fascinating.

  4. A woman who just moved into my mom's assisted living facility is a retired beekeeper. I found that fascinating.

Congrats on your retirement and new beginnings!

  6. I applaud anyone who homeschools! I wish I had homeschooled my own children. My sil has done all four of their girls and they have turned out so well adjusted and smart and happy. We used to have bees years ago. They were interesting and fun! xxoo

  7. Thank you for all the encouragement re: the bees. My attitude going into this is one of getting and caring for some pets- thousands of pets! We certainly won't mind the honey if they decide to give us some : )
