Contrasts of autumn

Normally abuzz with activity, the lavender is eerily absent of bees and butterflies. I still slide my fingers through it to capture its sharp fragrance.

Frost on the lawnmower seat resembles the tough hide of some exotic animal. Elephant or rhino?

Poor little lilac didn't get the memo about bloom time. It makes a brave appearance and stands alone.

Most of the color has fallen to the ground where it was frosted overnight.

  1. All nice photos. Love the bravery of the bloom. And especially the lavender.

  2. Beautiful photos, Leonora. You've captured the transitional period of fall perfectly. Particularly liked the tractor seat--it does resemble the tough hide of a rhino!
