Papaw, Young at Heart, New Potatoes

1. There is a nice little man who lives down the road and he likes to sit in his car on sunny days.
2. I've seen this same man (grandpa in age) on the grass, legs in the air, work boots pointing to the sky, happily wrestling with a puppy.
3. Roasted chicken with balsamic vinegar and sage served with new potatoes boiled in their skins. Audrey exclaims about the cute little potatoes as she comes to the table.

  1. It's amazing the pictures one gets in their head from these three thoughts. Love them. The chicken sounds wonderful. Have you got a recipe?

  2. Hi Marie,
For a whole chicken, use 12 sage leaves, 2 large cloves garlic, chopped. Gently insert a few sage leaves and some of the garlic under breast and leg skin. Stuff the rest into the cavity. Then mix 2 Tbl. balsamic, 2 tbl. olive oil, 1/2 tea. sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Brush some of this over chicken and pour rest in cavity. Roast at 350 F. until done (about 1 1/2 hours) basting occasionally. Serve with pan juices. So simple, but so good!
